We need a Maximum wage
Astronomical gap between the pay of workers and bosses exposed in report on earnings of America’s top 350 CEOs
As soon as the airport workers threatened to strike, the government reopened. This country needs a good general strike to get the money out of politics and demand true representation.
800,000 mostly unionized workers have been working for almost a month without pay. The fact that there hasn’t been a general strike to end this egregious shutdown shows how weak, fractured, and neutered the U.S. labor movement is. Workers used to shut down entire cities in order to get pay raises, improve working conditions, and achieve an eight hour day. Now they don’t even whimper when they’re forced to work for nothing. America, home of the cowards
America under socialism would actually have the workers controlling the factories and keeping them open instead of sending them overseas so stockholders could make more money while not working in said factories.
Workers would never choose to close their workplace and send it over seas.
This is why workers need unions
“The story, evocatively titled “Dr. Elon & Mr. Musk,” describes an unpredictable leader who prowls the floor of Tesla’s Gigafactory “red-faced and urgent, interrogating workers” — and sometimes firing them on the spot for what sound like dubious reasons.”
Elon Musk accomplishes extraordinary things, but he sounds like a boss from hell.
But I thought the economy was doing “GREAT”?
Trillion dollar tax cuts for the rich, more wasteful spending for the military profiteers, yet government employees get nothing because of “serious economic conditions”…
The pay increases, including a 2.1% across-the-board raise, would have taken effect in January.
