Puerto Rico and US imperialism
Puerto Rico is part of America, yet they don’t have all the rights Americans do. As a territory, they have no senators, no representatives, and no say in the Federal government yet they are under the yoke of the US empire.
After a century of pillaging by American industry and capitalist, Puerto Rico is now filing for bankruptcy. They are doing this under the binding agreement of a US judge who will decide their fate and undoubtedly strip their assets to pay off Wall Street bond holders.
How does America justify dictating terms to a country that isn’t allowed any stake in our government?

To clarify, since we’re getting lots of questions – this is NOT the end of the road for the National Popular Vote bill. The bill was “passed temporarily” meaning that it was delayed for later consideration and that a vote was not held.
What we DID learn today is that the list of undecided legislators continues to shrink, with 5 Representatives, Miller, Adams, Berger, Gentile, and Reyes, voicing their support for the bill.

People are mad as hell. Many videos are surfacing of heated town hall exchanges where representatives try to provide insincere responses to real and thoughtful concerns posed by their constituents over healthcare. This is the tip of the iceberg.
