This is what solidarity looks like. When we unite and support one another, anything is possible ✊🏻🇺🇸
CT showing up for union rights
Yale refuses to bargain with their grad students who formed a union. They’re waiting for Trumps labor board to be in place, hoping they won’t need to alnowledge the student’s union. Good work people, keep up the heat! ✊???
“Working-class people are angry at the degree of American inequality, desperate for an explanation of how we got here and ready to take drastic action, if presented to them. Whether they opt for Trump and Steve Bannon’s racism or take to the streets against the 1% depends largely on how unions decide to fight back.”
Unions are organizing their members around an explicitly progressive analysis, hoping to unlock the power of workers to help lead the resistance.
From the Left: “Trump’s missile strike will accomplish nothing. It is a stunt to trigger “rally effect” to boost his popularity.”
“Syria saw it coming, moved personnel – and equipment – off the bombed base. Russians warned. An impotent stunt.”
Yes, it was a stunt to boost popularity in a time of desperation. But it’s wrong to call it “impotent” or say it “will accomplish nothing.” It will seriously hamper Assad’s aerial capabilities and prevent Assad from bombing civilians.
Hillary called for the strikes earlier in the day. This was a major, immediate reversal for the Trump administration, but an appropriate action. What comes next and how they handle it is the concern.
