To say socialism fails on its own accord is absolute ignorance. Capitalists try to crush socialism at every opportunity.

The right ought to be confused. Tracking cohesion in a web of propagandist lies can be difficult. The battle of ideas is already won. All that’s left is to implement these ideas at home.
As social democracy gains popularity, the right can’t seem to find an honest, consistent argument for why Americans can’t have nice (Danish) things.
“At the heart of the democratic socialist vision flowering on the American left is the recognition that more than policy tweaks will be needed to empower everyday people to participate meaningfully in society and democracy. Working Americans deserve a say in how the country’s vast wealth will be used, and that will be possible only when inequality is reduced, corporate and big-money donors are banished from politics, and lawmakers are truly accountable to the people. It’s not so much to ask. But democratic socialists are the only ones asking.”
The article is glaringly wrong that America doesn’t have a socialist tradition. Socialists of the early 20th century paved the way for social security, pensions, the 8 hour work day, overtime pay, food and drug standards, and Medicare to name just a few accomplishments.
At the heart of the democratic socialist vision flowering on the American left is the recognition that more than policy tweaks will be needed to empower everyday people to participate meaningfully in society and democracy.. A Gallup poll this month found that Democrats are warming up to the idea of….
“Americans overall think redistributing wealth is a pretty good idea. According to a 2017 Reuters/Ipsos poll, over 75 percent of adults believe the rich should pay more in taxes. An Economist/YouGov poll taken the same year concluded Medicare for All, a cornerstone of the renewed socialist movement, is supported by 60 percent of Americans. Making college tuition free is supported by 63 percent of registered voters, according to a Morning Consult/Politico poll, while Civis Analytics found that 52 percent of respondents backed a federal jobs guarantee. Raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour? A Pew poll shows 52 percent are behind it. And when it comes to getting corporate money out of politics, an Ipsos poll finds 57 percent of Americans are on board.”
Election pearl-clutching is often related to fears that socialism endangers the wealth and power of America’s elites.
Americans have been trained by decades of Cold War propaganda to look for any confirmation that ‘socialism means poverty.’ But in the case of Venezuela and other states not governed by the free market, this cliche simply doesn’t ring true., Bolivarian, Nicolas Maduro, Oil Prices, socialism, Un…
Corporate Socialism is Wealthcare…Why do I have to pay for them, they should find another job if they don’t like it?…I saw all the signs in the fields begging for Trump to get elected and taking handouts is avoiding personal responsibility…The huge tax cut should have been enough…
Danish “Right Winger” = left of the Democratic Party
A fellow from a regressive-minded think tank concedes the many benefits of a nation that provides universal access to pre-school, healthcare, and college.
“How much do you pay when you go to the hospital, if you have cancer, God forbid, and you go to the hospital?” Sanders asked the right-winger from Denmark.
“Zero,” he replied.
Well, guess that settles it.
