The President is out of control.
Not just Trump, but the presidency in general. The president currently can launch a war with no congressional approval, execute American citizens with no over site, approve wire tapping and spying with no warrant or justification, and seize anything they want in times of “emergency”. The empirical president is here
One of my biggest criticisms of Obama is that he cemented many of the unconstitutional powers in place that Bush had accumulated. Not only did obama leaves these powers in place, he legitimized them in an air of bipartisanship and expanded them through subsequent NDAAs. Now Trump pulls these levers.
Do you think Congress will finally step up and take their war powers back? Will they put an end to the empirical president?
Bernie Sanders responds: “Thank you, Mr. President. We’ll quote you on the floor of the Senate.”

Yes, Mr. President, the Australian health care system is a lot better than our system and infinitely better than the disastrous bill you supported yesterday. We have got to end the absurdity of the United States being the only major country on earth not to guarantee health care to all.
What would you say about a president who:
Packed his White House cabinet with Wall Street bankers, corporate executives, and people beholden to the industries they are tasked to regulate?
Illegally dropped bombs on countries without congressional approval?
Tried to cut social security payments in order to balance the budget?
Pushed for oil and gas extraction on public lands, allowing the energy companies to take more oil and gas than any other time in our nations history despite the looming threat of global warming?
Proposed spending a trillion dollars on the nuclear arsenal while our infrastructure crumbles?
Actively lobbied for draconian policies to spy on Americans and erode our civil liberties?
Pushed for private charter schools, education reform designed by billionaires, and instituted highly unpopular education standards.
Staged an unprecedented attack on the free press, using the World War I era espionage act to jail and silence dissenters?
Sat by while millions who protested in the street, got pepper sprayed, beaten, and arrested for exercising their first amendment rights?
Waged illegal wars around the globe on sovereign nations who never attacked us?
Actively lobbied against guaranteeing healthcare to all Americans?
Sided with big banks and corporate America over the American people?
Pushed trade deals that hurt American workers and industry in the name of corporate growth?
Passed a law that cemented low tax rates for the wealthiest in our country?
Deported more immigrants than any other president in US history?
Did nothing as student debt exploded to over $1 trillion?
Sat by and did nothing as police forces murdered innocent people on a weekly basis?
Proclaimed that the water in Flint was fine to drink instead of helping fix the problem?
You’d probably say this was not a good president right? So why are you still defending Obama, because he was the president that did all of these things.
