I can see the paid trolls are in full effect for the midterms. Ban 🔨 activated
Do journalists ever question Republicans on their motives for destroying access to affordable healthcare without an alternative? Or do we simply live in a time where they completely own their malice and bald faced corporatism? American citizens be damned, especially the sick and poor. Ain’t no war like a class war.
In a 50-50 vote, Republicans defeated a Democratic measure to stop the return of insurance companies denying coverage of pre-existing conditions.
“The decision will have a major effect on the 2018 midterm elections, as dark money groups will now have to disclose contributors if they spend $250 or more to advocate for or against the election of a federal political candidate.”
A court order invalidating a rule that kept some election spending secret is going into effect.
North Carolina’s gerrymandered map is unconstitutional, judges rule, and may have to be redrawn before midterms
It’s time to stop letting politicians pick their voters
“I think electing Republicans is better than electing Democrats,” said Rep. David Lewis, a Republican member of the North Carolina General Assembly, addressing fellow legislators when they passed the plan in 2016. “So I drew this map to help foster what I think is better for the country.”
The judges said they may require new districts before the November election, possibly affecting control of the House.
As much as I hate the two party system, the Green Party of America is an absolute joke.
In the 17 years since they were founded, they have only won 5 state legislature seats (the highest office a green has ever held) and every single one of them changed their affiliation to democrat or independent shortly after winning.
They have no interest in party building, organizing, or educating the public. They run absurd candidates for offices way beyond their skill level, the special election in Ohio is the latest example. Their high point was the Ralph Nader candidacy, in which he received 2.7% of the popular vote
In theory, the Green Party is vitally necessary for a two-party system with party platforms so rigid and legacy-laced that not all potential candidates can get with either of them. I get it.
