Another media crafted controversy to distract us from real important issues
Some kids who chronically skip school have deep family issues at home. Parents struggling to make ends meet, single parents working multiple jobs, or family members with substance abuse problems. Throwing parents in jail because their kids skip class is sadistic, immoral, and does more damage to already fragile families harming, not helping children.
Know the issues. Know where you stand on the issues. Know where the politicians and candidates stand on the issues. Refuse to support politicians and candidates who aren’t with you on the issues. It’s that simple.
We have had major issues in this country for at least the past five decades. Globalization, endless wars of empire, the full takeover of our government and airwaves by corporate interests, the decline in workers rights and labor unions, deregulation, environmental degradation, the destruction of civic society, stagnant wages, the decline in our standard of living, exploding medical costs, and the decimation of American education are what elected Trump.
Trump is a symptom of a broken economic and political system. Merely replacing trump with another corporate public relations crafted politician will not solve the any of the above stated issues, the issues that allowed Trump to be elected. Until we solve the systemic problems with our society, country, and government, we will be doomed to a fate even worse than Trump. Because the next right wing phony populist will most likely be intelligent, crafty, charismatic, and lethal for our country. Think of a charming version of Trump who is eloquent and knows how to operate the political machinery, that’s who we get next if we don’t fix the underlying problems.
No one had heard of Kathy Kraninger before Trump’s nomination.
It is disgusting to see so many liberals and progressives, some of whom I respect, worship John McCain. I’m sorry if this offends you, but when evil people die we don’t need to pretend they are “good men”. Good men don’t vote like this. Good men don’t advocate for torture and endless war.
