The video is of an interview retired Episcopal bishop John Shelby Spong did with Keith Morrison of Dateline NBC back in August of 2006.
“I don’t think hell exists. I happen to believe in life after death, but I don’t think it has a thing to do with reward or punishment;
Religion is always in the controll business; (..) it’s in the guilt production controll business; (..) it’s part of a controll tactic.
The church doesn’t like for people to grow up, because you can’t control grown ups… That’s why we talk about being born again.
When you are born again, you are still a child. (…)
People don’t need to be born again, they need to grow up.. They need to accept their responsability for themselves in the world.”
[What about “accept Jezus as your personal saviour” as a way not to go to hell]
Every church I know claims “that we are the true church” – they have some ultimate authority… (…)
The idea that the truth of God can be bound in any human system, by any human creed, by any human book…
[to me that idea sounds pretty darn arrogant; it shows the arrogant idea that man is making the rules and thus bigger than God], is almost beyond imagination to me…
I mean: God is not a Christian… God is not a Jew or a Moslim or a Hindu, a Buddhist, all of those are human systems, which human beings have created to try to help us walk into the mystery of God. I honour my tradition, I walk through my tradition, but I don’t mean my tradition defines God…I think it only points me to God”

People were sounding the alarm bell on Houston for years, sadly no one listened.
Houston is the fourth-largest city in the country. It’s home to the nation’s largest refining and petrochemical complex, where billions of gallons of oil and dangerous chemicals are stored. And it’s a sitting duck for the next big hurricane. Learn why Texas isn’t ready.

The GOP is hell bent on destroying everything that makes our country good.
They want to privatize all public service in order to extract maximum profit from us.
They do not care about the environment at all, seeing it as theirs to take and destroy.
They do not respect human life or life in general as evidence by their genocidal policies on the environment and climate change.
They have absolutely zero empathy for the poor or working class.
They think he average citizen should have no rights, including the right to vote, free speech, freedom of expression, or freedom to dissent.
If it were up to them, only wealthy white men would be allowed any say in the affairs of our country. Everyone else would be barred from participating in the day to day operation of America, besides doing all the rom for them.
