The Democratic establishment is in full panic mode after Ocasio-Cortez’s win. They know their time is running out!
“She campaigned on raising the minimum wage, eliminating tuition at state universities for families that make less than $125,000 a year, and moving toward public financing for elections.”
And she won!
Single-payer health care has long been a liberal pipe dream, but no one really knows how it plays politically. Now, it will finally get an electoral test.
We’ve seen comments on our page about how criticizing establishment Democrats is divisive and counter-intuitive to the Left’s own success. For those I ask, what good does simply electing a Democrat do when that Democrat chooses to act as a Republican? What is more damaging? Attack the establishment for their own misdeeds and demand more of the Democratic Party or continue to turn a blind eye to issues such as this?
Justice Democrats have named Alison Hartson as their progressive candidate and primary challenger to California senator Diane Feinstein. Justice Democrats run on a platform of getting money out of politics and aren’t taking corporate bribes. If you’d like to support Alison’s campaign please donate at the link. Time to oust the corporate Democrats.
We need to raise $147,000 to get Alison the tools to dismantle the corporate party machine in California. Can you help us?
“While promoting themselves as champions of human rights on individual popular issues (such as Gay Marriage), our fundamental and most basic rights to unionize, control our fertility, engage in the political system, blow the whistle, receive a fair trial, and be protected from government intrusion into our lives (NSA and Homeland Security ring any bells?)…are disappearing or already gone…with the full support of both parties. Oh, I meant to say, the one party that runs our country.”

I fully support efforts to reclaim control of both Political Party Machines, from the ground up. Howeve…
Every election cycle a new batch or right wing zealots appear that make the old ones look good by comparison. Meanwhile Democrats continue to creep right as sane republicans jump ship and party bosses claim to represent the nonexistent “center”. People want change! If Democrats or those on the left won’t provide it, the batshit crazy rightwing reactionaries will surely fill the void….
The insurgent’s victory in Alabama is likely to fuel other primary challenges in a year that was supposed to be kind to the GOP.
“It’s becoming increasingly obvious that Democrats can only win by moving to the left, and just as obvious that those in control of the Party would rather retain power than win victories.”
“The Democratic Party must finally understand which side it is on …” —Sen. Bernie Sanders addressing The People’s SummitThere’s a war on for the soul of the Democratic Party. On one side are the neoliberal elitists who make up the establishment wing of the party – many of whom pose as progressives…
The Democratic establishment seems intent with losing an entire generation of voters to cover for Hillary’s loss. Instead of owning up to a bad campaign and candidate, they continue to double down on bad policy and shaming actual progressives.
It’s funny to see the establishment attacking Sanders once again. You think they’d embrace the most popular politician in the country instead of trying to tear him down. It’s like 2016 all over again…
