This is what a real America first trade policy would look like. Don’t want to produce your goods here? That’s fine we won’t enforce your patents and let others build those products here. Want to use slave labor and dump pollution in other countries, well we’ve got a tax for that.
To the Harris supporters here, how do you overlook or justify this type of record?
“As California’s attorney general, Harris blocked the release of non-violent offenders on the premise that they may lower the prison labor pool and threatened to enforce a one-year prison sentence for parents whose children were truant. Policies like these disproportionately harm low-income families. Truancy policies that impose jail sentences are often coupled with court fees of $300 an unexcused absence.”
Like many people of color, Harris’s previous record gives me pause – she has supported policies that have contributed to a broken criminal justice system
These 2020 hopefuls are courting Wall Street. Don’t be fooled by their progressive veneer | Bhaskar Sunkara
“Wall Street isn’t afraid of corporate Democrats gaining power. It’s afraid of the Democrats who will take them on – and those, unfortunately, are few and far between.”
Likely candidates are begging for Wall Street’s support – and reminding us who really owns American democracy, writes Guardian US columnist Bhaskar Sunkara
“Black children don’t get a PR firm and a softball interview when they are in need of redemption. They get an open casket and a good sermon when it’s time to appeal for grace.”
And they definitely don’t get the chance to redeem themselves on national TV with the help of Savannah Guthrie.
The truth is that unions improve people’s lives. Don’t believe the corporate media hype, unions are filled with hard working people just like you. If you don’t have benefits or pay as good as your union counterparts, perhaps you should organize a union at your workplace! ✊🏻🇺🇸
