“The move of the spectrum to the far right has created real imbalance even within and outside the GOP; the main problem is that the centrist or moderate GOP are unwilling or scared to challenge the right-wing side knowing to rattle the cage is to lose their seats and the financial support. Republicans have many tools on the table if they want to start taking a more adversarial stance toward Trump, but no one other than those outside the political spectrum is willing to stand and fight online and in emails and in protest against the GOP. If no one wants to stand against the GOP, then it is really the time for Centrist/Moderate Republican to stand outside and be independent or create a new party that is reflective of those view of Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower. Here is some aspect that was the core of the GOP for years including fiscal conservatism and creating fair balance on the environment and supporting science and the studies in medicine for the people versus profit.
A: Provide federal assistance to low-income communities;
B: Provide asylum for refugees;
C: Extend minimum wage;
D: Improve unemployment benefits system so it covers more people;
E: Strengthen labor laws so workers can more easily join a union;
F: Assure equal pay for equal work regardless of sex. and others.
G: Protect Social Security.
Today’s GOP has walked away from the symbol of Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, but are still eager to use their image to represent the GOP. But today’s GOP is not the image of Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Eisenhower and in some cases, it is even not the picture of the GOP of Reagan” – Jay Cugtas
