The firefighters who risked their lives, some of whom lost their lives, on 9/11 are the same unionized public servants the general public constantly bash. These people deserve everything they get and more
“Suppose that on 9-11 the planes had bombed the White House… suppose they’d killed the president, established a military dictatorship, quickly killed thousands, tortured tens of thousands more, set up a major international terror center that was carrying out assassinations, overthrowing governments all over the place, installing other dictatorships, and drove the country into one of the worst depressions in its history and had to call on the state to bail them out. Suppose that had happened? It did happen. On the first 9-11 in 1973. Except we were responsible for it, so it didn’t happen. That’s Allende’s Chile. You can’t imagine the media talking about this.” – Chomsky
So, I’ve got a question. Approximately 3,000 people sadly died from the 9/11 attacks. We subsequently spent trillions of dollars to try to assure this wasn’t repeated and fighting a lot of unnecessary wars in its name.
This “health care “bill would kick 24 million people off of health care, and probably more now with the new provisions. This will without question result in far more death of American citizens than 9/11 did. So here’s my question-if the government does not owe you any assistance with health care then why does it owe you safety from terrorism?
Why are we willing to spend trillions due to the death of 3,000 if American life is so worthless in the eyes of these folks? Why doesn’t the government, which is supposed to be a body of power representing all of us, at the very least, owe us consumer protection from greedy insurance companies?
The government is supposed to be all of us little Davids banded together to be a Goliath but it seems to me they’ve forgotten A.they are us and B. it’s ours, not theirs to trample us with.
