“[A Democratic Party] county chairwoman posed an uncomfortable question. Mr. O’Rourke had not endorsed Ms. Jones. In fact, he had elevated her Republican opponent, Representative Will Hurd, with frequent praise and, most memorably, a live-streamed bipartisan road trip that helped jump-start their midterm campaigns. Would Mr. O’Rourke support the Democrat?
He would not.”
In a historically important midterm election, Biden and O’Rourke boosted vulnerable GOP incumbents over the objections of local Democratic parties.

Texas Elections 2018: Here’s how much Beto O’Rourke and Ted Cruz have raised in their midterm Senate race
The Democrats have already put over $60 million dollars into the Texas Senate race between Beto and Cruz, a race Cruz will easily win. If the Dems were smart they would have spent this money on competitive senate races in Nevada and Arizona, or on party building within red states. As much as I despise Cruz, he will win and other democrats will lose due to the waste of resources in Texas
We’re tracking how much U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz and U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke are raising in their Senate race.
I’ve heard some ridiculous arguments regarding teacher strikes and wage increases, asserting that because teachers get time off in the summer, it’s justifiable to pay them less. To that I say, what about Congress? In 2018 Congress is expected to be in office less than half of the work year! Talk about freeloaders. Never let a politician try to tell you about the virtues of hard work. Worst yet, Republicans demonize the working poor and scoff at the idea of minimum wage increases, all while they plan their next paid vacation on the government dole.
It’s a lot more than your average American worker.
